Hanbury and Draycott Gardening Club was formed over twenty years ago by a small group of garden enthusiasts. The aim was to share and increase knowledge of various aspects of gardening in a friendly and sociable atmosphere.
This is achieved by visits to gardens and nurseries during the summer months and in winter by inviting speakers to impart their specialist knowledge and experience. Over the years visits have included various Royal Horticultural Society events such as the Hampton Court flower show, the R.H.S. trial gardens at Wisley and Harlow Carr and Bridgewater as well as spring shows at Malvern and Harrogate.
Membership is through an annual subscription, currently twenty-five pounds and the club meets on the second Monday of the month at 2.00pm in the Hanbury Memorial Hall. This is for the winter season which runs from October to April. The outings for the summer season are generally by car or coach on various dates to be announced.
Anyone interested in coming to a meeting may obtain further details from the Treasurer, Andy Harris telephone 01283 821450
